AJCR: Editorial Board Policy

The Editorial Board of AJCR consists of members from the Founding Editorial Board, Senior Editorial Board and Associate Editorial Board.

Founding Editorial Board: The founding editorial board consists of a limited number of distinguished professors in cancer research and related fields with international reputation. All members are appointed by invitation from the Chief and/or Associate Chief Editors. Membership will remain in effect until terminated by either the member or the journal.

Members in this category may be requested to review manuscripts or invited to write a review article in the areas of their expertise. They are not required, but are always welcome to submit their research articles for publication in AJCR.

Senior Editorial Board: The senior editorial board will consist of approximately 100 well-established scientists, with a very high caliber publication record (>50 PubMed indexed publications) and an academic rank at or above associate professor level or equivalent. The majority of them will be invited by Editor-in-Chief and/or Associate Chief Editors or by members of the founding editorial board. Membership will remain in effect until terminated by either the member or the journal.

Members in this category will be required to review manuscripts in their field of expertise, but no more than three manuscripts for each member each year; and are expected to submit and/or solicit at least one manuscript each year during their tenure.

Associate Editorial Board: The number of associate editors is not limited at this time, but generally no more than 100. Members in this board must have an excellent publication record (>20 PubMed indexed publications) and an academic rank at or above assistant professor level or equivalent. They may be invited by members of the Senior Editorial Board, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors-in-Chief. Self-recommendation is welcome and is in fact encouraged. Membership will remain in effect until terminated by either the member or the journal.

Members in this category will be required to submit and/or recruit at least one manuscript each year, and are expected to review manuscripts if requested, but no more than five manuscripts for each member each year. They may be promoted to the senior editorial board upon fulfillment of their responsibilities as an associate editor for two consecutive years.

All Editorial Board members are expected to promote AJCR where possible and appropriate.
